The beer package onboard also comes with a Disney Cruise Line-branded beer stein mug. Guests can check the ship’s onboard schedule in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for the exact times and locations of where characters will be during their cruise. I recommend taking a look at the sales and special offers page on Disney Cruise Line’s website. Occasionally, Disney will offer discounted sailings, as well as special discounts to military members and their families, Florida residents, Canadian residents, and more. If you are someone who is considering a vacation with Disney Cruise Line, chances are you are somewhat of a Disney fan. Just as with the infamous theme parks, Disney capitalizes on their many characters and movies and brings to life the magic that children and families experience on the big screen to a cruise vacation experience.
I only book a Disney cruise if it's going to the company's private island, Castaway Cay

Is determined by the Guest with the highest membership level in the stateroom. All Guests staying in the same stateroom will enjoy that member’s benefit level for the duration of the cruise. There are four tiers to the Captain’s Circle program where there are 4 levels. Princess uses a system of the amount of cruises, or cruise days.

A British native and now a United States resident she splits her time between California, Florida and the UK. She helps over 200,000 people per month follow their Disney travel dreams. Now you have to be Pearl to enjoy early boarding times automatically. They can arrive at the port and go into the terminal as soon as it is open.
Platinum Castaway Club (10 Completed Sailings)
How early you’ll get to book these sailings before the general public depends on your membership tier (which we will discuss in detail later). Since inaugural sailings and new itineraries sell out quickly, early booking gives you the best chance to get the cruise you want at the best price possible. Disney Cruise Line offers a handful of decent perks to members of its Castaway Club loyalty program, including early access to new itineraries and onboard activities. Additionally, Pearl members are given a complimentary unlimited digital photo package which allows guests to download all the photos from their journey. Guests are awarded Gold status after completing five sailings with Disney Cruise Line, and they receive all the same perks as Silver members, plus some new ones.
You'll receive an email if your question is answered.
Before we get into the new Castaway Club gifts, Pearl members arriving for today’s Disney Wish Silver Anniversary at Sea sailing will be joining the Platinum member check-in line. She is a Gold Castaway Club Member who has sailed on all four of the current ships at least once and is ready to set sail on the Disney Wish this fall. If only DCL would add some more benefits to their loyalty program.
Pro - Large and comfortable staterooms
These impressive nighttime entertainment shows feature engaging music, live fireworks, and more. I always make a point to stop in at the various shops near the family beach to see the Castaway Cay merchandise. On a recent trip, the shops had everything from spirit jerseys and T-shirts to Christmas ornaments and swimsuits. Plus, just off Serenity Bay Beach is a fun beachside bar serving up drinks and snacks.
My favorite shows were the theater renditions of Disney's Aladdin and Frozen. When the primary pool gets overly crowded and busy, I recommend adult guests check out the adult-only pools. These adult-only pools are often much less busy and more quiet. The main pool is where children will be playing and enjoying an afternoon in the sun. One of the fun features of Disney Cruise Line’s main pools is the huge jumbo screen that will feature Disney films throughout the day.

The lanyards are a great conversation starter with fellow passengers. It’s these connections with other guests that make cruising with Disney special,” according to Tracie M., a PlanDisney Specialist. In addition to the lanyards, Silver members currently receive a complimentary tote bag, which is great for carrying towels to the perfect beach lounger at Castaway Cay.
Castaway Cay Club Benefits – At Home
Specifically, you can make reservations for newly announced itineraries four days before the general public. You can also book activities up to 123 days in advance of sailing. Earning status in the Castaway Club loyalty program is about as simple as can be. You get a credit for every cruise you take — whether it's three nights long or 10 nights long.
The type of gift may vary based on your membership tier, the ship you’re sailing on, and the specific itinerary you booked. Gifts change periodically, so it’s unlikely you’ll get the same exact gift twice unless you’re cruising in rapid succession. However, you may receive different versions of a similar gift—like sling bag in various colors. These gifts usually include the “Castaway Club” emblem, ship name, or specialty sailing logo. Still, Disney Cruise Line's Castaway Club loyalty program does bring a few valuable perks at its higher-level tiers, including early access to new itineraries and onboard activities.
If you are a Gold Castaway Club member you can select your port arrival time online. Often, there are still spots available once you board the ship as not all activities are released prior to sailing. So it is a very definite perk that once the new Disney Cruise sailings are released, all Castaway Cay members can book them earlier than the general public. To remain in the program, Castaway Club Members must book or sail on at least one eligible cruise within 5 years of their last Disney voyage.
If you sail on a 3-night cruise with Disney Cruise Line or a 12-night cruise, both cruises count as one cruise toward your Castaway Club status. To maintain your Castaway Club status, you need to sail with Disney Cruise Line within 5 years. This means that you have to have completed the sailing before the five-year mark. In a major change that took effect in early 2024, Disney Castaway Club members will no longer get "forever status" upon reaching the various tiers of the program — a notable allure of the program since its inception. Disney has lots of official photographers on board its ships to snap photos of you and your kids with princesses and the like. Paying for even a relatively small number of photos taken by these onboard photographers — even in digital form — normally can cost hundreds of dollars.
And if you're a fellow character hunter like me, Mickey and the gang all have Castaway Cay exclusive outfits, which are adorable and make for great family photos. This makes getting around the island with all of my beach gear easy. Fortunately, the island has a complimentary tram that I always use to get around the island. Castaway Cay is about 1,000 acres — though not all of it's developed — so it can take a while to talk to and from the ship to different spots on the island. Some perks disappeared during the pandemic and have yet to make a reappearance. In that situation, you can board with your partner even though they do not have Platinum status.
However, if you really want to do some digging, there are several unofficial Disney Cruise Line forums where you can hunt around to see if anyone who has sailed close to your date posted photos of their goodies. The Castaway Club program is Disney Cruise Line's free cruise loyalty program. Also possible in the “My Cruises” section, when you're logged into your account and viewing your Castaway Club information, is the ability to see your cruise folio (or bill) if you sailed in the past 90 days.
